Electronics Installation

Additional electronics components may need to be installed on your NEMA 23 or NEMA 34 Plug and Play Control System to allow operation of your Avid CNC Rotary Axis.

NEMA 23 Systems

If your plug and play control system does not have a 5th motor drive, follow the complete NEMA 23 5th Drive Installation Instructions.

Plug and Play Control Systems purchased prior to Jan 2020 require use of a capacitor for operation of the rotary axis.

  • Open the control box to determine if your system came with a capacitor pre-installed:

  • If you do not have a capacitor installed, the NEMA 23 5th Drive Installation Instructions include steps for installing the capacitor. Begin at the Capacitor Installation step in the instructions.
  • If you do have a capacitor pre-installed, no further electronics components need to be installed.

NEMA 34 Systems

If your plug and play control system does not have a 5th motor drive, follow the complete NEMA 34 5th Drive Installation Instructions.
