3 HP Spindle / VFD Systems¶
- Input power: single-phase 200-240VAC, 50/60Hz
- Current draw (approx.): 8A at peak load (minimum 10A circuit recommended)
These spindles come pre-wired with an L6-30 plug, which mates with an L6-30 receptacle. This can be field retrofitted to a different 240VAC plug if necessary. Consult a qualified electrician for assistance with any changes to the stock power cable.
4 HP Spindle / VFD Systems¶
- Input power: single-phase 200-240VAC, 50/60Hz
- Current draw (approx.): 11A at peak load (minimum 15A circuit recommended)
These spindles come pre-wired with an L6-30 plug, which mates with an L6-30 receptacle. This can be field retrofitted to a different 240VAC plug if necessary. Consult a qualified electrician for assistance with any changes to the stock power cable.
8.7 HP Spindle / VFD Systems¶
- Input power: 3-phase 208VAC2 or single-phase 200-240VAC1, 50/60Hz
- Current draw (approx.): 27A at peak load (minimum 30A circuit recommended)
The system comes pre-wired with an L21-30 plug, which mates to an L21-30 receptacle. A 3-phase to single-phase plug adapter is included for use with an L6-30 receptacle.

Compressed Air Requirements

- Supply Pressure: 95-115 PSI (105 PSI recommended)
- Supply Pressure Connection: 1/4" Male Industrial Quick Disconnect
- Minimum Air Flow: 2 SCFM @ 100 PSI3
- Filtration: 40µm minimum
1 Operating the 8.7 HP Spindle / VFD system on single-phase power will reduce the spindle's peak power to 6.4 HP.
2 Three-phase input power must be a three-wire or four-wire Wye system. Three-phase 380-480VAC power must be stepped down to three-phase 200-240VAC (typically 208VAC).
3 The drawbar consumes 2-3 SCFM intermittently. Case pressure consumes approximately 2-3 SCFM continuously while the spindle is running. Case pressure is required if any coolant is used and is highly recommended when cutting abrasive materials (MDF, composites, foam). A minimum compressor and tank size recommendation is 2.4 SCFM @ 90 PSI, 125 PSI max pressure, 3 gallon tank. Increasing flow, max pressure, or tank size will reduce the duty cycle.
