Power Requirements

3 HP Spindle / VFD Systems

  • Input power: single-phase 200-240VAC, 50/60Hz
  • Current draw (approx.): 8A at peak load (minimum 10A circuit recommended)

These spindles come pre-wired with an L6-30 plug, which mates with an L6-30 receptacle. This can be field retrofitted to a different 240VAC plug if necessary. Consult a qualified electrician for assistance with any changes to the stock power cable.

4 HP Spindle / VFD Systems

  • Input power: single-phase 200-240VAC, 50/60Hz
  • Current draw (approx.): 11A at peak load (minimum 15A circuit recommended)

These spindles come pre-wired with an L6-30 plug, which mates with an L6-30 receptacle. This can be field retrofitted to a different 240VAC plug if necessary. Consult a qualified electrician for assistance with any changes to the stock power cable.

8.7 HP Spindle / VFD System

  • Input power: 3-phase 208VAC or single-phase 200-240VAC, 50/60Hz
  • Current draw (approx.): 27A at peak load (minimum 30A circuit recommended)

The system comes pre-wired with an L21-30 plug, which mates to an L21-30 receptacle. A 3-phase to single-phase plug adapter is included for use with an L6-30 receptacle.

Operating the 8.7 HP Spindle / VFD system on single-phase power will reduce the spindle's peak power to 6.4 HP.

Three-phase input power must be a three-wire or four-wire Wye system. Three-phase 380-480VAC power must be stepped down to three-phase 200-240VAC (typically 208VAC).
