Our standard NEMA 34 R&P system features 4 times the torque capacity of our NEMA 23 system by using larger series belts and pulleys.

It also now features our EZ-tension kit for simple adjustment of the mesh force into the rack. It integrates seamlessly with our extended linear carriages, and is still compatible with our rack clamps for easy machine setup.

Due to the higher torques of NEMA 34 motors, this system features a 2:1 reduction instead of the 3:1 reduction on our NEMA 23 system for higher speeds. If you prefer a lower reduction for more power and less speed, this is available in our NEMA 34 PRO R&P drives.

This product includes the following:

R&P NEMA 34 plate, hardware kit (including EZ tensioning mechanism)
Motor pulley for 1/2" shaft
NEMA 34 drive spindle assembly with 20 pitch, 20 degree pressure angle pinion gear, integral bushing and timing belt pulley
15mm belt
Motor mounting cap screws and nuts.

Note, the extended carriage and motor shown are for demonstration purposes, and are not included with the kit.

Product Notes

Our R&P drives interface with 20 pitch, 20 degree pressure angle Gear Rack, which we offer in convenient spliceable sections:

Simply mount rack to the extrusion underneath the rail using our innovative rack clamps and combine lengths of rack to get the travel you desire.

MACH Settings for R&P:

The R&P system is based on a pinion with a 1" pitch circle. The total linear distance traveled per revolution of the pinion is thus 3.14159". With the NEMA 34 R&P 2:1 reduction, this means that the distance traveled per motor revolution is 3.14159 / 2, or 1.5708". If you have a stepper with 200 steps per revolution, this means you have 200 / 1.5708" = 127.324 steps per inch, or 0.007854" per step. With 10x microstepping (like in the G201x or G203V), you would have 1273.2 steps per inch, or 0.0007854" per step.
