    Machine Configuration

    CNC Control System
    Three motor options range from affordable steppers to high-performance Teknic ClearPath® servos.

    NEMA 23 Stepper

    An affordable and very capable control system for those who are less concerned with cutting speed, but want an extremely reliable and easy to use machine.


    NEMA 34 Stepper

    For production shops, commercial users, or those with large machines, our NEMA 34 control system offers increased power, greater speed, and higher depth of cut.

    Complete control at high speeds with ultimate precision. The closed-loop functionality allows the system to recover in the event of an error or fault, providing peace of mind for the duration of your job.

    Choosing a Torch

    Hypertherm's Powermax plasma torches offer an excellent combination of cut quality, ease of use, and rugged reliability. Avid PRO Plasma machines are available with several Powermax torch options to best suite your needs and budget.

    Gantry Width
    An extended gantry allows for the potential addition of a second Z-Axis (now or in the future) while maintaining full work-area access for both tools.

    We offer an extended gantry width option for dual Z-Axis machine configurations.

    The extended gantry adds 10" to overall width.

    Z-Axis Travel / Gantry Height
    Offers increased gantry clearance, accommodating extra-long tooling or extended Z-Axis travel.

    For common router cutting applications, like sheet goods and harder materials, the standard 8" ballscrew Z-axis and 8" gantry height option is the best choice.

    *Please note that increasing the gantry height will negatively impact machine stiffness and is not recommended for most applications.

    Deployable Laser System
    The perfect complement to our spindle or plasma systems, adding the ability to cut fine details as well as engrave a wide array of materials before or after machining.

    Experience ultimate flexibility with 45 watts of power to cut 3/4" plywood in a single pass while also retaining the ability to perform detailed cutting and engraving.


    Automatic Deployment / Retraction

    No need to remove and put away the laser when switching to spindle operations. No tools, no hassle, no down time. Mountable on either side of a PRO Z-Axis, it's compatible with accessories like the Avid CNC Universal Dust Shoe.


    Safe for You, Safe for your Machine

    Includes a dedicated key for arming/disarming, failsafe retraction to accommodate loss of air pressure or emergency stop and pressure sensor alert to notify the user if the system is not clear for use.
