These clamps allow the use of narrower steel on taller gantries, rather than more expensive 7" steel. The clamps reference off of the extrusion t-slots to self-center, and provide an even 2" spacing, ensuring the proper 0.5" overhang for our Linear Carriages and Standard Rack and Pinion Drives. They also provide additional rigidity in connecting the rails to the extrusion. We recommend using one clamp approximately every 12" for maximum connection strength.
