Dust Collection
Dust Collection
CNC routers make dust, and a lot of it. This can wreak havoc on even the heartiest machine components if not controlled properly, so installing a form of dust collection at the source is highly recommended. The DIY CNC crowd has created a multitude of clever and very functional solutions. One of the best is the split shoe system from
Kent CNC
. This system is exceptionally well-designed, and Kent makes versions that are compatible with a multitude of different routers and spindles. The detachable brush ring provides quick and easy access for bit changes, while the 3” length brush clears hold down clamps and other irregularities in work height. Finally, the clear acrylic lets you see what the bit is cutting. Once you get your machine up and running, this is a highly recommended upgrade.
