We provide separate options for Z-Axis Travel and Gantry Height.
Please note that increasing the gantry height will negatively impact machine stiffness and is not recommended for most applications. For common cutting applications, like sheet goods and harder materials, the standard 8" Ballscrew Z-axis and 8" Gantry Height option is the best choice. Select the 8" / 8" option for this configuration.
If you require additional gantry clearance for longer tooling, our 12" Ballscrew Z-axis and standard 8" Gantry Height is the best choice to provide an additional 4" of Z-Axis retraction above the gantry. Similarly, if you require increased Z-Axis Travel, this can also be accomplished with our 12" Ballscrew Z-axis and standard 8" Gantry Height by recessing your workpiece in the table, or off the front of your machine. Select the 12" / 8" option for this configuration.
Increasing the gantry height is only recommended for specialty applications with low cutting forces, like cutting foam or similar materials, or other non-cutting applications. Select the 12" / 12" option for this configuration.
All of our machines are powered by advanced all-digital motor drivers that are perfectly matched with our low-inductance motors and can be configured at either of two levels.
- Plug and Play NEMA 23 CNC Control System
An affordable and very capable control system for those who are less concerned with cutting speed, but want an extremely reliable and easy to use machine.
- Plug and Play NEMA 34 CNC Control System (recommended for this machine)
For production shops, commercial users, or those with large machines, our NEMA 34 control system offers increased power, greater speed, and higher depth of cut.
Our Plug and Play CNC Control Systems are fully assembled in industrial metal NEMA enclosures, pre-wired, and ready to go!
Please note that many large format CNC machines, including all of our PRO CNC and Benchtop CNC machines, employ a dual-drive gantry system, and thus require a 4-drive electronics package.
A 5th-drive upgrade for this system is available to enable control of an additional independent axis (such as a rotary axis, additional Z-axis, etc.).
